At first I thought this was shitty when Smart and Kiffin did it (kiffin got axed before the championship game I think). But I find it actually a good thing for the team you are leaving and those kids are not left high and dry with one game to go.
Cutcliffe left us before the National Championship. Signing day is in February and early signing day is in two weeks. Time to get his ass busy. And Saban has already shown he’ll fire someone for trying to do two jobs at once. So yeah, we’ll pay this guy millions to keep helping out the school he really loves, our biggest rival. Absolutely. The second the guy puts pen to paper to be a coach at Tennessee, he needs to be all-in against Bama. He sure as shit doesn't need to be actively trying to help our biggest rival (prior to us becoming a Sun Belt program) win a national championship.
