I can't imagine the kick in the teeth it must be to not only get fired, but have your former players decide to stay for the new guy and your former recruits praising the hiring of the new guy.
I think he's a better college Danny Trevathan who is having a solid career so far. Should focus on putting ten pounds on and maintaining his athleticism imho.
Thomas Davis from Georgia played Safety and moved to OLB for the Panthers. Maybe JRM can put on a little more weight and follow a similar path with the bonus of already having played LB.
I am no scout. But JRM is going to be desired in the NFL. At what exact position I don't know, and may even vary by team. But the guy can play at that level. It seems clear to me.
How so? He's already proven he's a tackling machine. I don't see his measurable athleticism going up very much.
I think he will be higher profile which will result in a higher draft order. It is nothing but my gut telling me that he is probably undervalued and has a chance to remedy that.
