Personally, I would stay in the NFL. Screw recruiting 17 year olds and their families/handlers.

 

This is how you get your guy. That's an insane amount of money.

 

He's young enough, he could complete that contract and still go back and have a long NFL career.

 

That's the way to go get your main target--make him an offer he can't refuse.

If he agrees and has them back in the playoff picture on an annual basis, it's money well spent.

 

The theory I'm hearing that makes the most sense is harbaugh's agent is leaking this to give him more leverage in his negotiation with NFL teams.

 

I can't see a scenario other than this one.

I think he's a better fit for the college game. He's a drill sergeant that's going to wear thin on paid professionals. College kids are young and dumb enough to follow him and by the time they get tired of him, they'll be graduated.
