If our QB play is equal to what we saw Saturday, it's a win.

 

And I'm actually going to go to this game assuming Maurer is starting again. I actually feel like we have a chance to be a competitive football team with him on the field, instead of JG.

 

Maurer carved UGA up for a half, that's no exaggeration. That's some of the best qb play Tennessee has had since Bray.

Now, UGA whipped his ass in the 2nd half and the offense sputtered, but for your first start against an NFL quality defense, I'll take it. He had an ugly pick, but I'll take that with 20 yard completions

 

He looked better than I expected. No complaints here. It's winnable anyway.

That's not too shabby. Maurer's arm opened up a lot of room and against MSU, USCe, Vandy, UK there will be more.

Yeah we woulda taken that before the game.
Ga did mix it up more but we got behind the sticks with penalties. Stuck with 2nd and 3rd and long hurt our rhythm and they applied more pressure then. We didnt have those issues in the first half, and it cant happen vs #3 in a dogfight with a young QB.
Even the ugly throws at the end of the half I was like, this kid doesnt give af and is just playing ball.

Ms st run game is concerning. We need to send 6 at the backfield every play, or maybe our DL not moving at all will confuse the QB.

 

I might add that he did most of it without needing to be bailed out by his receivers. The interception was a perfect example of a rookie mistake.

 

How many of JG’s 20+ yard passes were 20+ in the air?

Who knows, maybe they pissed away an unlikely win to get Mauer more time in the pocket. I'm guessing here really. I wasn't staying up till 1 AM Sunday to watch a nearly guaranteed loss.
