Typically, when people talk about government controlling them, they are nut jobs, and government is everything from the Illuminati to Atlantis.
Maybe typically, but in a year where government lock downs have significantly impacted the lives of a large population of American citizens, I'm not sure it's as nuts as it has felt in the past. All the people who call Trump an "authoritarian" seem to miss that he passed on what might have been the easiest opportunity for an American President to seize authoritarian-esque power in 150+ years.
I don't think it is. If anything, I see my positions as defending the average, every day (sane, educated) Conservative voter. Because I don't think those people are evil, or callous, or selfish. It's not their fault that they are stuck with Trump as their only conservative option.
As nuts as always. This year is not an outlier in that. Authoritarian powers don't mean everyone is locked inside.
Yes, it absolutely is. You are a Trump supporter. Nobody has ever said, "I'm not a pedophilia supporter, but I'll defend pedophiles.," and been taken seriously. That's you, now. When you defend something, that makes you a supporter of it.
That power lies with a central authority, as in, making the executive branch above all others. They are co-equal branches.
