Would require schools to honor the scholarship for an extended period of time, up to four years

This would allow players who under perform to remain on scholarship, without the deterrent of losing the free ride

Would limit team attrition because it would be harder for coaches to dump the dead weight

Would also stop players from being showed the door for more talented ones to take the scholarships or losing them because of injury

It was brought up at the NCAA meeting in Indy and Mark Emmert is said to be serious about it

    Thoughts?

I say 2 years. Not 4. I see where they are coming from but if a kid comes in and loafs around then show him the door and open up that scholarship for a hard worker.
