This isn't new and the reason why the NRA has been struggling recently because most people that truly follow 2A issues. Hates the NRA because they play both sides of the fence for political and personal benefits.

It is widely known that Wayne LaPierre is a piece of shit.

But they won't succeed here. You arrest people for fraud, not shut down organizations.

I think that would be the prevailing argument.

NRA seems to be more of concerned with gun manufacturing than gun ownership, IMO.

That said, if I'm one of Trump's campaign staff I'm thrilled because you were just thrown a lifeline.

"New York wants to take guns" isn't an infrequent headline.

True, but it gets its politicians reelected or elected to the next office up maybe even smears the NRA a bit.

They could give two shits about Americans, beyond them purchasing as many firearms as can be made, and making them with no restrictions beyond that juiced demand. They don't care how they are stored, how they are distributed or where they go, how safely they are used, or what they are used for. Just pushing product, and not afraid to pull whatever psychological and political levers to do it. It'd be dumb and bad if it were soda or futons or bottled water or lottery tickets. It just happens to be guns. They're toxic.
