USC lost to Utah... and moved up two spots. Utah defeating USC? Moved up only one spot.

How often does a team get beaten by a lower ranked team... and then move up in rankings? Meanwhile another team in between those two in the rankings was beaten by a much better opponent as expected (Syracuse @ Clemson) and dropped EIGHT spots. They are stacking it to make an argument for the Pac 12 champion to be in the playoff. There is an agenda. It's obvious. USC is being propped up to help set up the conference championship as a springboard to playoffs. There is no way sports writers truly believe USC is 2 spots better in a loss to Oregon but Syracuse is 8 spots worse in a loss to Clemson. At best, it means their previous rankings are bullshit too.

Probably more USC bias, specifically, than PAC12 bias. Everyone in the media wants USC to be a power again. The sport needs more contenders outside the SEC, and everyone makes more money when USC is good.

But the idea that in the same week, a higher ranked team increases in rank after being upset and a lower ranked team drops 8 spots for their first loss against a top 5 team on the road... is bullshit.
