    Seriously?!?

If Pat Summitt -- the all-time winningest coach in NCAA basketball history (male AND female) -- thinks a woman ever coaching in the NBA is a "longshot" ... then you better believe it won't be happening any time soon.

Summitt, who has coached the women's team at Tennessee since 1974 and has won more college games than ANY coach ever, was asked twice in her career to take over the men's team. She declined both times.

From my understanding, it was not a real job offer either time. More or less a gesture of respect to her that they knew she was going to turn down.
