They extended his contract this year through 2026 so they might be stuck with him for at least another year. Unless they have a booster wanting to step up an foot the bill.
I don't know if they can afford to fire him, but they definitely cannot afford to keep him. I feel bad for their fans.

Based on the time I interviewed for a job in town there (was subsequently offered and turned it down), they seemed to have a fairly passionate fan base. Whether that translates into donors or not, I don't know.
They keep Trumpet Blower around much longer, he will suck all that passion right out of them. He about did it to me for UT.
They love Ark State there. When I was there they were regularly packing their stadium. They see Arkansas as their true rivals. Bunches of businesses use Red Wolf stuff to advertise. This is the opposite of Murfreesboro with MTSU. At Ark St. they gripe at students for wearing Arkansas or Tennessee or Ole Miss or Memphis stuff on campus.
I hunt fairly close to there and it's impressive how much Arkansas State stuff you see in that part of the state
