Looking at some advance stats on Tulsa's D the past few years and this is how they were ranked according to one site. He started as DC in 2019.

Runs one of those [ussy pay] Wilcox defenses...lol. Which happens to be the most consistently effective defense we’ve run over the last 15 years.

 

I looked at points per play and they were 22nd this year, 94th last year. So, I'd personally say the jury is still out.
