I figured why not, since Kiffin is coming to town, it would waste some time this week. Names I remember - Kiffin Calhoun Leach Brewster Anyone else I am forgetting? Any changes you would make in hindsight?
In hindsight, I find it amazing that we did not end up with Tim Brewster, given all the shitty decisions leadership has made. Of course what is really sad is that we might have ended up better than where we are right now.
Leach would have been the safest bet. Wouldn't have been great but wouldn't have been a total failure
2005 till now is a complete blur to me, and all runs together. In 20 years when it is well in the rear view mirror, someone should write a book about it.
Butch Davis, Brian Kelly, and Kiffin are the only ones I really remember hearing and think they were serious. No way Brewster was a serious candidate, even if he was mentioned as such. I didn't think Calhoun was until the next search.
I just can't buy that you fire Phil to hire Troy Calhoun. Even if he was/is a good coach, you need a little name recognition to replace a guy that was as ensconced as Fulmer.
I agree with you, but this is Mike Hamilton we are talking about. Now, in 2010, had he not made that big speech to his team a week or so before, I think he is the man.
I wonder if you could actively sabotage a program (short of openly and wantonly paying players) better than the Hamilton/Kiffin/Dooley triumvirate did?
