There is no way in the deepest darkest depths of hell I would lower that buyout. Not one cent. This is a 4 month old contract.

I didn’t say lower the buyout. Just put them on a payment plan. TCU wanted the whole buyout up front. Barnes can pay the difference though.

 

Screw 'em. You don't steal another school's coach and not pay the buyout as contractually obligated. Tennessee has no obligation here.

 

And if Fulmer doesn’t want Barnes anymore?

 

They can either pay $5M up front or $2M/year for 5 years IMO
