This is my line of thinking. Of course Trump could go another direction but a (reasonably) balanced court is about as important as it comes.
You’d vote 3rd party for senate/house? Because that’s the vote that is being talked about (midterms).
Shame we can’t agree to push legislation through that drops the seats to 7, leave this seat open for now, and let RBG retire. She is 85. The court is a heartbeat away from the far right getting all their desires.
No, the hypothetical is that 2018 midterms can hinge on Roe v Wade being overturned, so promote that aspect and have the evangelical block come out in force. And the reply was basically, they tried in 2016 (for Cruz and then later Trump), and wouldn't likely made much of a difference in 2018 midterms. And then you guys said you'd participate in 2018 in a different way than 2016. And the question is... how? You're more likely to alter your midterm vote for senate or house based on that likelihood? I guess Blackburn can look forward to your vote? Oh well Bredesen, you might have been good, but party got in the way.
But it is certainly true that when the evangelicals turn out in the midterms in the same numbers as Presidential, the GOP wins. 20 something liberals tend to sit midterms out.
This is true. And it is usually done quietly. Don't mobilize the 20 somethings by telling them you're here to shutdown abortion, legal weed, gay marriage and pornography. At least it doesn't seem like a solid strategy to me.
0f those 4, I only care about Roe. Although I do think states should be able to make whatever drug and porn laws that their people deem appropriate. I don’t think gay marriage should or will go anywhere.
I get that you don't, but I don't think any of those four are strongly endorsed by "evangelicals." I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that platform thinks all 4 are sins, and that generally sin shouldn't be allowed by government. But I get that you don't, and most posters here don't. But that's a deviation.
