He's probably the best 3-point shot in NBA history...so...

    I was making a joke, but. . .

He's on track to be better than them.

I'd say he's already better, especially compared to Kerr and Bird. Curry is in Allen/Miller territory.

He's already objectively better than them.

He's past them. The only guy who might have been able to do what Curry is doing was Petrovic. Curry is a volume 45% three point shooter.

Curry is better than all of them. Allen and Miller are the only ones close, they had to work for their shot. Kerr just stood at the wing where MJ was posting up and hit wide open 3's, Curry would shoot 65% with those looks.

Kyle Korver certainly deserves mention as well, but he's also in that Steve Kerr mold. Curry is taking his threes off the dribble and against defenses that have "stop Curry from shooting 3s" as their lone objective for the night. It's really quite incredible.

I would have loved to have seen the next two or three years of Drazen Petrovic, who was entering his prime and was also shooting at 45% from behind the arc, and would have only taken more and more shots in his next several seasons. I have a hunch that he might have been on that Curry level, but we'll never know.

They did it longer. He keeps doing what he's doing for a few more years, I don't see how it's a question (I have no reason to expect him not to). If he were to suffer a serious injury and never regain his form, he's behind them.

I'm not all for calling a guy in his 6th year as the GOAT.

I see what you're saying, but if Curry sets the 3-point record AND wins the MVP this year, I'd say he's better than Kerr even if he retires on the spot. Being a role player who can shoot is very different from winning the MVP because of your shooting.

I agree about Kerr, but Bird and Allen are still a ways to go
