It actually feels a lot worse to me. This team should not be 3-4. 5-2 at absolute worst.

 

I know right? The Vols and Vandy are doing great this year with their above .500 (3-4, 1-3 SEC) records!

What the ever-loving **** is going on? What has happened to people?

 

To be completely fair, I think he meant to imply that as of this point, there are no excuses for the future. There are still plenty of excuses for the past. Just no new ones.

 

I mean, how many 3-4 teams has Tennessee fielded?

I'd prefer being the worst 6-1 team.

I see this quote in the article and ask myself what the **** does Jones's first year have to do with the fact he lost to an inferior Florida in absolutely incompetent fashion in his 3rd year? And having observed this UT team all year, how can you not say Jones is "Muschamp"ing by failing to win 10 games this year? He perfectly isolates and identifies the problem with Muschamp that's equally applicable to Jones, but he just refuses or isn't capable of recognizing it. It's amazing.

 

Or Pitt. Or Duke.

 

I meant worst 6-1 Tennessee team.

 

If not for the losses, we're undefeated. And even with the losses, if you think of some of the plays we almost made, there are enough that any rational person would have to agree that, record aside, we're basically undefeated.

Hell, even espn power index ranks us as such.

 

And I'm normally critical about losses. But it's hard not to view these losses like wins.

 

Matter of fact, I'll go ahead and refer to us as 7(3) - 0(4). Feels more accurate.
