As the week progresses, there is no escaping the realization that it’s a Jeremy Pruitt defense against a [ddiapos] offense. Vols 31 Mizzou 20
Missouri's defense has been awful. Lock has been awful against SEC teams. They do run the ball okay. They are a very bad football team
Lock had 1 good game against the SEC and that was @Florida. If we get a good home crowd going, especially with momentum of the Kentucky win, UT can put Mizzou on blast. If our Front-7 plays against Mizzou like they did against Kentucky, we'll bury them. However, UT has struggled with consistency in both offensive playcalling/execution and in LOS physicality to this point so I'm hesitant to fully buy in. Mizzou - 24 Vols - 17
If Helton calls the game like Auburn/Kentucky and not a scared [itch bay], we'll be fine. Why we aren't throwing more deep balls is beyond me... was it JG's ribs up through UNC-Charlotte?
One thing that has stood out to me. Since halftime in Athens we played well against UGA for that half, well at AU, we could have played well against Bama and it not really show that much, pretty well at SC, horrible against Charlotte, well against UK. I think Charlotte is the outlier that just doesn't fit that stretch. We re a bad possession or stop away from being 3-1 in our last 4 SEC games with the 1 being Bama.
I agree, actually. Friend has been in a mad scramble to field a complete OL since the beginning of the season. We've effectively lost our entire starting left side all the way to our Center. That's rough. Friend has done an excellent job overall, everything considered. I also think losing Kongbo showed most against SC and the actual rotation didn't settle in until Kentucky. There was a pretty definable step back from Kongbo to ??? at Jack... especially clear against SC at least IMO. This could also have been a step forward game for Deandre Johnson, given how well he played opposite Taylor. They were both a menace against Kentucky.
