He's been with Tyndall since Morehead State, but I wouldn't read too much into that, I guess.

    Geez. That stings.

I fear that Tyndall is going to be the kind of guy who feels like he's made it rather than a guy who finally has the chance to really prove himself (ala Jones).

Plenty of guys who would take a coaching position at Southern Miss over a non-coaching position at a high major school. Not a big deal.

Not a big deal at all.

More the well-respected coach as the reason over...say....just saying its a chance to be an assistant coach. Could just come across badly.

Only if you want/are looking for it to.

The guy worked with him for how long? Seems like this would've happened sooner if there was some big problem with working with Tyndall.

Nah, for the last 8 years he's looked at any and every opportunity to jump ship and couldn't do it. He hated every last second of it. Didn't you see that he even tried to get a head coaching job somewhere?

I neither "want" nor "am looking" for it to mean, anything.

In fact, I went so far as to say that one probably shouldn't read into it.

I expect your next post to remark that I am being a NegaVol, or that I'll lose some Volympic points.

I don't know how you could say that, TT. His first few weeks seem to have went perfectly. We should expect more of the same excellence, going forward.

And proceed to go 8-4 every season (and whatever the basketball equivalent of such mediocrity is).

No that's if the sheep win

Wouldn't 8-4 be glorious? Just once...

Exactly. He was just complimenting his new boss, not necessarily slapping Tyndall.
