Lotta smoke on VN about it coming down tomorrow. Campbell seems to be the hot name but I think people are speculating on who the big offer was made to.
To be fair, I don’t think the people saying it’s about to go down have dropped any hint about the name. For all we know, they could be ecstatic over someone we may not find particularly appealing at all.
So my question for discussion here is....who is worth 8 million a year of all the names we've discussed thus far? I realize we're gonna have to overpay for someone to take on the mess we have, but what say you?
MetaVolunteer (another connected person) said no one knows names. Says he's been calling his contacts since Friday and no one knows anything. Says White has a lid on it.
He sort of clarified that the 5 years could be set up to begin once self-imposed/NCAA penalties end, which could change the per year salary. Or I guess it could just add years at 8 million.
Yeah he is saying we have a backup if the offer is rejected. For some reason I’ve got a nagging suspicion that Herman is the backup
Yeah, I’m preparing myself for an offer to be rejected and a steep drop to our second choice (which may well be perfectly reasonable).

It's basically the coaching search we've been asking for the past few times. Professional, trying to throw money around, no public embarrassment (yet). Imagine if we had done this years ago.
