You just don't know how to enjoy a coaching search. This is all we get, and I will enjoy it until mid-May when I finally come to terms that they aren't replacing Steele and am wondering when Aubrun will come in and scoop up our high 3*s for the 2022 cycle.

Could do worse than O'Brien. If you had said he was coming the last two hires, I would have been comparatively ecstatic.

I’d love O’Brien, but is really going to accept another HC job without first knowing the sanctions from the NCAA? That didn’t work out for him the last time.

 

I mean, he turned that gig into an NFL gig. So he did alright

 

So long as the checks clear, I think it would be fine.

 

Steele out there trying to make hires.

 

If this happens, it makes me think they unofficially have their guy and he’s ok’ing these hires, they’re going with Steele as an interim, or get ready for an absolute nobody.

The more I think about it, the more I don't see Steele as interim for 2021 being an option. If the cheating/paying players was as blatant as alleged, there is a 0% chance that the rest of the guys on staff were unaware. With the NCAA breathing down our necks, I don't see how we can keep guys from Pruitt's staff employed for another year.

 

Pretty much
