knew a guy that used "and what not" endlessly
Guy at work kills me with "and I say that to say this" constantly.
"in reference to"
The most annoying one isn't even a word: irregardless. Don't use it in my presence. I'll lose it.
What idiot doesn't know it's unregardless?
No comment. I'm probably one of those dumb people.
Irregardless - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary
From the definition: "Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead."
Irregardless is a malapropism, of which the "ir" is superfluous.
By the way, we should change this thread to big words we love: mine = superfluous.
Regardles if it's not popular, it's still a word.
I would think the "ir" and "less" negative attachments would basically cancel out and make the work mean "with regard" which is exactly the opposite of how it is used.
I worked for a guy that would say "Let's consolidate this trash".
You mean throw it in the dumpsters, right?
"Et cetera, et cetera"
Mister trash man fancy pants with the refined speakin words.
It was funny.
Separate names with a comma.
