(Yet another) Great story on Eric Berry

Enough with Peyton speculation, let's bring Berry back as a coach.

 

Bring him an Al Wilson in as coaches and the rest of the country might as well stop playing altogether. We’d never lose another game. The kids wouldn’t want to disappoint Berry and they’d be scared to death of having to answer to Wilson!

Eric Berry is an amazing football player and a better person. He's done a lot of great things for a lot of people since the first day he came to Knoxville.

 

Without wanting any fanfare. That good, that talented.. and that humble.

 

Non Vol fans are always surprised when I tell them Eric Berry is my all time, all era favorite Vol. “What??!? Not Peyton??!?”...

 

And there’s nothing false about that humility either. He’s as real as it gets.

Any time I’ve ever met Peyton (about four or five times, total... either at UT or post graduation) I’ve found him to be.... well.... anything ranging from basically unfriendly to outright asshole. I appreciate all he’s done for UT and I wouldn’t want to pass final judgement on someone I’ve only run into briefly for a very short timespan total but it is what it is. Others have had very good interactions with him so there’s that. It just hasn’t been my experience that he’s a warm individual.

He doesn’t, but there’s no need to be an asshole unnecessarily either.
