Can they be trained to take care of carpenter bees? Tennis racket, though effective, isnt a sure kill and they dont feel warned. Had one squeeze thru a racket hole today. Literally heard a little thud and sucker was still there staring at me.
Enjoying the folks saying these are no big deal. Saw one guy say it just proved how pussified we had become in America that we were afraid of them.
They sound less than ideal: "With the toxic venom that their large stingers deliver, the insects already are known for killing people in their native habitats: In Japan, an average of 30 to 50 people each year die from the hornets’ stings. In 2013, when populations of the hornets were unusually high, they killed 42 people in a single Chinese province. Most serious incidents occur when people come near or disturb the insects’ hives." https://www.nationalgeographic.com/...-arrive-united-states/?utm_source=knewz#close
I may tell one of the guys that I will personally pay for his plane flight to WA state if he will go and try to snuff these things out with normal clothes on.
The fact that these things are coming in first at Washington state worries me. It means they are not warm weather only bugs and normally that keeps a lot of crap out of Tennessee. And what the hell controls their population in China and Japan?
