Yes, it is very normal for a highly regulated and policied industry to have members get time to speak to the ones who are passing and doing the regulation and policy making.
The 1st amendment is for everyone, we can all ask for whatever. I don't understand why this is a story when this is regular with every industry. Is is because some people don't like this industry? Do they demand favoritism for corn, oil, gas, etc?
I "think" you know the "why". Had they had a sit-down with another tribe in the WH, it would have been news on a different "news" outlet. Just a pessimistic guess.
I think people are getting tired of companies looking for bailouts no matter what sector they are in. I believe this company is going to need one too.
I look at it as somewhat of a democratic corporate oligarchy. Which is a cut above an authoritarian oligarchy.
don’t know how democratic it really is at the federal level, imo. there’s really one option with the illusion of choice, and if you get outside the lanes of acceptable views. The establishment of the corporate/government will do its best to crush you.
