FWIW, we are 11th in 247’s complete rankings which accounts for HS and transfers. Could still add the Tulane WR and in for the the 5 star DL.
I genuinely believe that, when it’s all said and done, the high point of the Deion era in Boulder will be his first game against TCU. All down hill from there.
My thoughts are about the same. He was always in it for his son. If he found easy success, he would stick around until he got bored or it got hard.
You know this will aggravate some as Garner seems untouchable and everybody loves him but our lowest rated recruits in this class are the DL commits.
It did seem like he had us in play with more 5 stars than any other position coach did. He just whiffed on most.
I loosely follow recruiting rankings but not so much individual recruits, so I don’t know if he just got beat or if what I’m about to say applies, but…it’s just not that easy for a guy like Garner with this generation of kids. Guys that are built to take his coaching thrive under him but it’s not for everyone. You kinda just gotta accept that about him and know next year might be a class where there’s more top rated guys that will mesh with him. There’s only so many elite DL and within that group even fewer that will fit with him.
I always consider when those guys are taken. A few were taken very early and kept. If Garner identified them early on, I'm gonna roll with that.
I hope we see some of his old success soon. Butler and Young are the NFL DL picks since he’s been here.
