I guess it depends on the nature/severity. Patellar tendon ruptures aren’t as long term as like, an ACL, but would still be several months. But all I’ve seen is “patellar injury” so it could be any number of things, I suppose.
I’ve had both. Patellar tendon rupture is brutal and kind of odd for just running, but could be a slight tear. My kneecap went halfway up my thigh like a yo yo when I ruptured mine so there was no way to limp off or walk at all. If he has a full rupture he’s done till fall
just liked to compete and didn’t stop till I was 47 with the patellar rupture. Every surgery from hoops from age 17-47. 3 acls, 4 meniscus, 1 achillles, 1 total, 1 patella tendon.
