Norris that is pretty awesome! You should start a Youtube channel and post some videos. You never know, you may get a bunch of followers. Then again, that may be the reason you wouldn't want to do it. Just a suggestion. Either way keep it up and post some of your creations.
Norrisalan, I have been doing knives for a little while too. No forging, I grind a piece of bar stock down to a rough shape, and heat treat in a coffee can forge I built following a YouTube video. I made one knife I'm happy with out of 5 maybe, it chopped a water bottle in half and I cut a 1 inch tree branch in half. But I'm still learning. I love it. I've watched a ton of YouTube videos. I love that you're going it with your son. Anyway, have fun and post pics.
