I feel as if I suddenly just planted the seed for an unholy alliance.

 

I want to do some looting. Where would be the best place to loot a 96" flat screen?

 

The looting only distracts from a legit issue that they have as a community. Sad really that they have no leadership or guidance

 

As far as the shooting that started this mess, I am completely neutral (or trying to anyway, it is hard to stop emotions). We've only heard one side of the story, and I'm awaiting to hear both sides.

As far as the overall attitude of the police department, everything that has come back has been pretty damning.

 

I'll never understand why people show up to a protest and start looting.

 

That is the real tragedy. The shooting, while tragic no matter what, is just a short term problem, a symptom.

 

Police are distracted, and the looters don't care about what happened.

 

I've read the guy tried to take the officer's gun and ended up getting shot.

 

If that is true (and may be for all I know), then that's a gamechanger. Honestly, I have no idea. That's why I'm staying silent on the actual incident.

 

They don't trust Al...

 

I read that, but it strikes me as far fetched.

 

This is what I do to keep from having the police frick with me. I don't hang out on the street really late at night. I don't frick with people. I don't lie to the police if they ask where I'm going or what I'm doing. I don't run from them. I don't give the police an attitude. I tell them yes sir, no sir. I don't touch them. I don't push them. And I don't act like they are some a-hole off the street that can't ruin my life. Do I like the fact that they can ruin my life for no reason if they want to? No. It pisses me off. But I'm going to do everything in my power not to piss them off.

 

That is the industry standard response. Just like stop resisting. That is so they can beat your ass.
