It really does make one wonder how truly committed to winning the Tennessee Administration is...

Take Chip Kelly for example. Everyone and their step uncle knows he would bring a great staff and win big here. But he doesn't have "mountain damn values."

In the south, religious beliefs, sincere or not, are placed above all else...including collegiate sports. It is more important to some people that our coach be a Bible thumper than a winning football coach. And there is certainly nothing wrong with a religious coach at Tennessee but winning should come first in athletics. Not the occasional mention of a deity.

Is it the racism thing? That was a myth created by scorned players like Shady McCoy, Desean Jackson and Brandon Boykin.

As an Eagle fan, I find Chip to be a very likable guy but he's a win at all cost attitude.

That is what happens when you have outsiders run the show, and they come from rival programs. All they wanted to do was their perspective alum not get taken down.

People say that, but he did just fine here.

 

He's not even close to being the worst DC we've had since he was hired.

 

17th nationally in total defense. And that was with both the defending national champs and eventual national champs on the schedule, both on the road (the latter of which was held without a touchdown).

 

He had a rough season or two at USC, but I still think the guy can coach.

 

He did well against UF. Late in the year when we were playing Shane Reveiz at linebacker teams just lined up and made us like it. VT didn't do anything snazzy.
