I've been deeply disturbed by a recent Honda commercial. Glad I'm not the only one: http://www.spin.com/2015/07/truly-awful-acapella-cover-weezer-honda-commercial/ Great song has basically been ruined for me.
I like about 4-5 songs off the album they did last year. I'd call that a win. I also really like Pork and Beans, might be my favorite song by them. Especially the line where he says "one look in the mirror and I'm tickled pink."
Let me get this straight. You don't like buddy holly, but you do like the albums after Pinkerton? So you just have terrible taste in music.
Buddy Holly might be the worst song on the Blue Album. I like lots of material from Weezer post-Pinkerton. None of the albums are great start to finish, but there is a ton of good stuff there.
I like most of the Green Album. Ric Ocasek produced Blue and Green. ETA: He also produced their latest album, but I haven't listened to that one at all so I have no idea if it's any good.
I think the Green Album is good and kind of suffers from the weight of expectations after a 5 year hiatus. Sure all of the "guitar solos" are just repeating the verses and it definitely feels safe or corporate or whatever, but for what it is, it's pretty good.
