I was in Troy, Michigan June 2013 and a little boy in the hotel breakfast area heard me talking to some other adults and he came up and asked if I was from Kentucky. The rest of the group had to hold me back. I said no son I was born and raised in the great state of Tennessee! Yeah I stick out when I go other places.

Was at okaloosa and this 5 year old girl kept yelling to her family "cuhm'yere, cuhm'yere". Sure enough they were from hazard

I think the biggest of mine when I lived in CT was 'fixin'. "I am fixin' to go to lunch, anyone want to go with me?"

People looked at me with a weird gleam in their eye at first.

Most of the wife's family lives in New Hampshire. When my oldest was about 2 years old, we were visiting for the holidays. He kept holding his arms up to one of the aunts and saying "Ho-Jee, Ho-Jee!" until she finally looked at me and said, "What in the HELL is he saying!?" Had to explain to her yankee ass that he was trying to get her to hold him ... as in, "Come here, you want daddy to ho-jee?"

Accent doesn't make one ignorant, but thinking that it does does.

Perhaps has been mentioned here before, but reckon is perfectly cromulent, though probably the only place outside the south that you would ever hear it is the phrase Day of Reckoning.
