Severe Weather Thread

I got this constantly when I lived in Connecticut:

them: "So, where are you from?"

me: "Tennessee, we lived in Knoxville."

them: "OH! I have a friend that lives in Memphis! " (implying I might know them)

me: "oooohkay."

 

Are at that pub last night. Something was wrong with their cooing system and the only beer they had in tap was Guinness. Which is fine, but I can get that anywhere and wanted a Smithwicks.

 

I had someone in Knoxville tell me about their friend in Collierville. People just try to relate, they don't mean to imply some knowledge on your part. I don't know people in Memphis, so if they had said so and so was from Memphis, I'd have said "Ooohkay."

 

They don't even know how to change the jet stream out west.

 

I read an article earlier about the gulf stream current weakening, I'm sure we can figure out a way to [uck fay] up the jet streams too.

 

We have a hurricane (well, depression) named Fred.

Not quite the umph of some of the others.

 

It's a misunderstood storm. Fred just wants to drink beer and sit on the back porch.

 

sounds like a Fred could beat the shit out of a city with a woman's name though

Let's just find some 80 year old woman in her nightgown and curlers, put her on the beach, and tell Fred to go back out to the gulf.

 

July was the hottest month globally on record. And June was the hottest June globally on record. Sure looks like we are more on the "worst case" track than the middle or least case track for global climate.

 

Fred is in East TN.

Definitely a Fred now that it's here. Kind of boring. Nothing exciting. Just here. Like what you would expect from a Fred.

 

I’m surprised Kane is letting that happen. Perhaps if Knox County would allow him to wear his mask while serving, he could more easily eliminate Fred via choke slam
