Individuals making less than $75,000 or couples making less than $150,000 will still be eligible for a full $1,400 payment under the new agreement. Doesn't that still seem high? Why not lowering those limits and giving more money to those at the bottom hurting the most?
I think it all depends on where you live, really. 150K in Chattanooga is a lot different than 150K in Manhattan.
Heck, 100K in Knoxville should be taxed at a higher rate than 100K in NYC if you are gonna use progressive rates.
exactly, completely agree. 100k in Knoxville is really comfortable. 100k in New York city is pay check to pay check
They could have an index that takes into account your critical monthly debt to income and make brackets based off that. The rub would be figuring out what is critical and what isn't.
Its late and I don't want to play those videos right now (wife is asleep), but if true, lump them with the Westboro Church members.
So apparently Biden is now holding a record number of migrant children. I heard a HLN reporter describe the conditions as jail like.
It needs to be fixed. Holding them while trying to find out who they need to be released to is one thing, but doing so in poor conditions is unacceptable, as is splitting them up anyway.
The thing about this is that it doesn't promote the cause, it sets it back. These folks should be ashamed, and shouldn't be associated with BLM in any way. But they are, and they aren't helping.
it has nothing to do with protesting police brutality. Its a pass to verbally assault and harass people based on their skin color, while trying to intimidate them.
They have an infrastructure problem. There has been a surge at the border of undocumented children and they are processing them according to law, but there's also personnel shortages with COVID, along with spacing issues in the facilities due to COVID guidelines, and an indifference in the past to creating useful facilities for the purposes of holding these kids. So, the Biden administration is caught up trying to deal with a surge and find adequate facilities. It's going to be a bit of a mess. The best method of success here is going to be finding ways to help stabilize the countries these people are fleeing.
I'm not sure what makes them "black lives matter" activists. If they are saying they are there as part of BLM, anyone is free to do that, it is an unstructured movement. If they aren't, you folks saying they are BLM has made it so, even if not true. Either way, their actions aren't useful to either BLM, or a plight for equality.
