Even the punter needs to try to make a tackle sometimes on special teams.

Despite his numerous shortcomings, I’ll always remember David Leaverton fondly for making that one tackle in the NC game against Warrick(?)...

And if one or more of them wants to get his head out of his ass and do it the right way then he’s free to do it without a bunch of people on his case.

I still have images scorched in my mind of AJ looking like a peewee player taking a long arc pursuing behind the play.

Butch’s defenses always looked like 11 porch dogs chasing a cat through the yard.

I’m typically a box it coach. This week we are playing a bastardized wing-T that I want our guys to spill everything. Should be a fun week of practice.

My point in asking was really that it is easy to set up a bunch of straw men and say that there are attitude problems left over from the previous admin and the players they taught and recruited. That may well be the case, and probably is. But if it is, there are actual people behind those accusations. NYY stated even other players were talking about them. Somebody mentioned OL that used to appear on the depth chart and now don't. Buchannon has been mentioned (is he 28? Because 28 definitely wimped out on some blitzes.) And I can see a whole bunch of guys who seem to have underperformed their potential, but the reasons for that are not exactly clear.

    So I ask.

Pick up their tendancies in if they favor the wide side of the field and slant your front accordingly when the down and distance makes them predictable. Nothing like a guard pulling with DT on his flanks like a relay baton exchange.

We are a one gap 3-4 team. We slant often.

    They’re very predictable.

Do they run a slotted T or that god awful Delaware mess?

Send 2 defenders at each skill player and just tackle them every play.

    Wait.

There’s a high school in East Tennessee that runs the Texas slot T and I don’t know about it?

I love that offense. Who’s running it
