KState. Oregon has no defense, and their offense wouldn't be nearly as explosive against a halfway competent offense. EDIT: Oh, and I laugh at ND being included in this conversation.
Notre Dame deserves to be in the conversation. I would take them over State. I think Oregon would roll both.
To be honest, I haven't watched State much, but I'm basically picking them because I think the other two are vastly overrated. ND almost lost to Purdue, BYU, and Pitt. That tells me all I need to know about how good they are. Oregon is a little bit tougher to read, but I honestly think a solid defense that understands the concept of contain could shut them down.
They almost lost to OU and Stanford as well, but they didn't. I remember when Ohio State pulled off almost losses all the way to a crystal ball.
I'm willing to bet Monte Kiffin understands the concept of contain. Understanding contain still gave up 62.
Ya, hanging that many points against a pretty talented (not the most talented) defense with an experienced and accomplished DC made it apparent that it isn't some kind of fluke or gimmick.
K-State has done more, but I think Oregon is better. People write off Notre Dame because they play down to the competition, but they can beat anybody. This is a great time for a four-team playoff
I thought they'd be exiting the conversation on October 27. I'm starting to think they just play up or down to the competition. I'd probably still make them an underdog in Los Angeles, but it wouldn't shock me at all to see them win.
