Offense struggles I can understand. The defense has been consistently lacking under Barnes, in my opinion. Very poor perimeter defense, but now without Alexander to fix the numerous blow byes.
Quite the 2nd half turnaround. Bringing Lamonte off the curl a great ofensive adjustment with wings cutting or spotting up.
Significantly better perimeter defense and, dare I say, we seem to have discovered the hedge on the high screens. I'm almost giddy. Lack of inside presence is still concerning. We aren't going to hit long shots every game and will need some easy buckets. Plavsic?
I don't know the answer. we can still win a lot of games with great perimeter play, though it does create a ceiling
We have to consistently get this kind of performance from Pons offensively to have a decent year. Nkouma or however you spell it, has to become the low post scorer we lack. And he has the potential. Hes gonna be a good player for us at some point. Defense flat out sucked in the first half. But they turned it up in the second half.
turner showing a vision on passes I didn't realize he had. 14 assists and almost all were draw and dish
Pons going nuts is not something I'm going to expect again. However, at some point, I do think the Finn and James are going to flip a switch and become solid contributors to the tune of about 18-20 points a game between the two of them.
Imagine a trio (or more) of blue chip freshmen, with Pons of Olympus and a seasoned James next year. Damn.
