For auto, you want HVLP. But you need a compressor in the 30ish gallon to run them for any period of time. And those are all 240 hard wire. So when it gets time, I'll run a sub panel to the garage. I got the guns, and a little 8 gal, but to do serious painting and clear coating, I need a bigger compressor.
We have a couple of 30 gallon tanks at our shop that are 120v (hooked up to cnc machines). I think they are 175 psi. Not sure if that is good enough to run a paint sprayer.
I used to paint my race motorcycles in the garage, pissed the wife off because the clear coat would make the floor so sticky. I got decent at repairing and painting the bodywork because I wrecked a lot.
175 would be way over. The LP in HVLP means low pressure. High volume, low pressure. Do you know what the SCFM is on them?
This is what I got on my phone. When it was pretty well stripped down and ready to be painted. The car's natural color was the gold that you can see on the tail lights. But somewhere down the road, it got painted red. Some of these pics aren't attaching. I sold it a few years ago. There will be another one. Hm. Only one pic posted.
Would love to have one of those. Not enough of a gearhead or good at fixing anything, so I would have to have someone else do it. Jealous.
They aren't too hard to find, you just gotta jump on it when you find it. When I bought that one (off ebay in... 2008?) on the same day I could have also bought a '68 that was fully restored, but just needed a paint job, for the same price. (~10k).
I miss mine. We were having our 3rd child and needed a van. Quite the trade off. Plus when we used to go out they would park it in front like we were fancy
Nice, I actually like the black rocker's on that one. Mostly the rockers and fender inserts are chromed out.
Funny part is I just wanted an old vette and didn't know much about cars. When I went to buy it, I told the guy i was amazed there were no dinks. He looked at me disgusted and said, "Its fiberglass".
I’ll take any of these, Float, if you wouldn’t mind doing them for me: If I can get the bed floor in a cocobolo wood with a clear high-gloss stain, I’d appreciate it. Thanks, in advance.
How about a flat bed f-1? https://www.ebay.com/i/283705657638...MIi8baxbrb5gIVGIeGCh1uFA51EAQYASABEgJUf_D_BwE
