Bernie/trump exist because the cronyism in our system has a huge portion in our country disenfranchised and feeling like they don’t have a voice.

I know quite a few Bernie supporters who refused to vote for Hilary

The Dem Socialists are largely Bernie or Bust. Non-DS who like him will likely vote for other candidates.

AOC smoked out a career politician. By being largely unknown.

This is true, but also in a super progressive area and with an electorate largely disgusted with DC. I'm simply not convinced this is a big socialist movement versus the same angry and weary electorate which birthed Trump.

She did, but I'm also not sure how much was Crowley being complacent and thinking he had it in the bag. His last poll had him up nearly 40 points and he'd never faced a tough primary opponent.

folks do ignore it. A scratchy voiced old guy hangs around against established machines with supporters generally under 35. must be super cool and hip? they'll all grow out of that phase, like, uh, bernie did.

watch the documentary, he was fighting like hell and knew it the last stretch. he had refused to debate her at first, which backfired. she was going door to door in person while he was doing the traditional donor party stuff.

She outworked him and out campaigned him. No doubt at all about that. But he sat around too long and let her get momentum. He may have known it at the end, but it was too little too late.

I wanted to expand on this a bit to better clarify my thoughts. I've talked about how the political paradigm in this country has shifted and how it's risky to rely on traditional thinking when it comes to elections. The electorate is still angry/weary/disgusted with DC and is responding as such. This is why Trump is president, why Bernie has strong base, why candidates like AOC have displaced established politicians and it's why non-traditional candidates like Pete and Yang are able to outlast more traditionally qualified, bred in DC folks.

I do not attribute this stuff to tsunamis of white supremacy on the right and socialism on the left, but to the same frustrated electorate trying to find representatives/government they feel is actually representing/working for them.

And the frustration is not just with the government. As my parents put it, they were tired of how the world was treating them and the things they loved, telling them they were wrong. So, they lash out the only way they can, by electing Trump. How Trump or anyone like him is supposed to stop their favorite show from being cancelled because the main star says something stupid outside of work is beyond me, but it is truly the only thing they feel is possible to fix their teetering world.

Then you are a gullible idiot.

The people you know who told you this lied to you. And then you believed them.

    And Hillary skipped Wisconsin.

You think her complacency is what got Trump elected?

Did it have a hand in it? Absolutely.

The left skipped everything that wasn’t in there echo chamber last time.

Left news sources only followed each other while the right was following everyone no matter the bent.
