I gave up betting against Teflon Don after a year in office. And the Dems stepping on their own [Richards] every chance they get just makes it harder to get against Trump.

I can't make sense of how this will work out, at al, and I think anyone believing they do is kidding themselves. Trump is not popular, overall, and the Dems have a collection of extremely flawed candidates. I'm still at 50-50.

Only thing that matters is the coronation of King Kanye in 2024.

The economy and a divided democratic party tells me he will win again. But I'm trying to be optimistic, so I voted "No."

I'm going to say 65/35 he will be reelected at this point for the reasons already stated. Economy is rolling and Joe Biden is currently the Democrats best hope - let that sink in.

Let the economy tank in the next 10 months...................different story.

I think he gets another one. I saw an article recently about bacteria ejecting flagella in order to survive in a low nutrition environment. It reminded me of today's Democratic party - it's actually two parties in one and at war with itself. It needs to eject the Dem Socialists and let them stand on their own. They'll struggle mightily until that happens no matter the issues in the GOP.

you seriously reading the situation that way is the problem. you think of them as an unnecessary appendage, or a fringe. Brother, they're half the present and most of the future. you ignore them, you get 2016 and less.

Preposterous. They're nowhere near half the present. They're more than a fringe, yes, but nowhere near the size they're made out to be. The vast majority of the country is to the right of these folks, including most of the left. Social media amplifies them as it's a massive echo chamber.

I'm not saying they don't have good points and serve as agents of progress, but they've got a ton of issues too. From a behavioral perspective they differ little from the far right.

They’re as unnecessary as the white nationalist for the right and just as dangerous

then we aren't drawing the same circle of people. the ones engaged in violence are tiny. the ones who are democratic socialists are much larger. Bernie Sanders exists because of it.

No, they are very necessary for the right and are the reason Trump is in power with a good shot at reelection. he's never elected without them.

Totally agree on Bernie. He has a strong base. However, like Trump, he has trouble expanding it. There is a ceiling and it's real, which is why I disagree on the DemSo's present/future status.

Bernie hanging around until March against Hillary Clinton wasn't because of his charisma.

But if you ignore that, then you can marginalize it.

The people who wanted Bernie voted for Hillary.

The people who wanted Hillary would not have voted for Bernie.

That group is the problem group, for the Democrats. Not the group that can hang.
