I think Spanish reds are one of the best values in wine today, but even those have been creeping up in price. Also a big fan of Mendoza malbecs; you can get good quality at a reasonable price point.
High end scotch is for sippin' not drinking. Though if you want to give it a whirl, start a weekend scotch club, get some professionals you know and can hang out with. Every two weeks or so, throw in on a high dollar single malt and have a drink, play some cards, smoke some cigars, whatever.
I have never sipped/drank scotch, but am intrigued. I would assume, similar to wine, that one's palate must mature to truly appreciate the better scotch. Would you recommend starting with a moderate scotch and moving up from there?
Glenlivet 12 year old. On the rocks. Order it out for dinner, let it sweat. You will absolutely hate it. And then that'll be all you want.
Morning, midnight, or second breakfast. Doesn't matter. Sounds like the female equivalent of a Jane Austen book club.
Even my wife who never drinks scotch enjoys a real high end one. This is a good midrange one i like: BevMo! - Balvenie Scotch 12 Year Double Wood
I just don't like scotch. I've tried. I just don't like it. Honestly, I'm to the point where the only alcohol drink I like is beer.
nice choice. I like macallan 12 as well. recently i've taken to just drinking knob creek bourbon. my go to beer is now modelo especial. I guess i'm getting cheaper with age.
only thing i truly cannot stand is gin. I really didn't start drinking scotch till the last 5-10 years. before that i wasn't really into it.
Ah. Well, point me to a movie theater that will let us smoke and drink and maybe we can limit some of the elitist vibe.
