To be fair, I don't remember specific people's posts, but there was a whole lot of childish crap posted on the Dooley side of the argument back in the day. It's easy to sweep up all Dooley supports into one homogeneous group as I'm sure it is for some to do with Dooley's detractors or Gruden supporters. If you keep going back, I'm sure Fulmer supporters and detractors as well as Randy Sanders supporters and detractors likewise get categorized in this manner. It sucks, but that's how it is.

If you want to say his track record isn't that bad based on the his jewelry collection, and solely on his jewelry collection, that's your prerogative. However, the same schools that he won rings at, with the same head coaches, fired him....period. Regardless of the reasons, that's the deal. Talented players can overcome bad coaching, it happens all the time. Look at Les Miles. The Mad Hatter makes boneheaded calls all the time, and yet because LSU is loaded with talent ALL THE TIME, they win in spite of it. For a long time, Fulmer knew that we could out-athlete almost any team at any position and win based on talent alone. Once the talent started going to GA, LSU, FL, Bama, AU, etc, the flaws in the coaching staff were exposed. I'm not convinced that Martinez is a good coach because he hasn't had sustainable success. If he did, he'd still be at GA, or would've moved on to something better instead of getting canned. His rings, to me anyway, appear to be had by default and not by his work alone. Every staff has weak links on it, and regardless of if you are one or not, you get a ring if you are a champion. Point is, he could've gotten a ring in spite of shortcomings, just that everyone around him made up for them.
Fair opinion on Martinez. I'm just not going to jump on the he sucks bandwagon right now. Really serves me no purpose. I don't understand why that causes such spite though. Childish, imo.
