I have no doubt FIFA would prefer giving it to Canada before letting us host again if they have a chance.
I think we are in line for 2026, especially since the vote will be done after most of the current hierarchy will be gone. I think Nashville would be a possible spot for some games, as well, which would be awesome, probably the greatest event ever held in the state of Tennessee.
IIRC Knoxville made it fairly far down the list of cuts for the proposal for 2022, but I'd never expect it to be a venue. I would think Nashville would have a fairly legit shot, and it would be awesome.
Soccer is growing on me, but it wouldn't even be the greatest event of the year in Nashville. Fanfair/CMA Fest >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> World Cup. Please.
I'm sorry, but do those events have more than a billion people tuning in to watch them? The World Cup is the biggest event the world has to offer.
People can like or not like soccer, but to deny the magnitude of having the world's largest event in your backyard is ridiculous.
No guarantee that any good teams would even play in Nashville. I'm gonna have to stick with Lady Vols vs. UConn as my #1.
Yes, good analogy of a non existent event with an actual sporting event which draws more interest than anything else in the world.
