I think they're cool but the V6 they started in 07 that replaced the inline 6 seemed awfully sluggish to me. I've only driven one once though and it had big tires and I guess that issue could be negated with different gears.
Apparently the "newer" models (07-14) can have different engine makes. Some are better than others. My friend has an '07 Sahara Unlimited and it's really nice. Drives great too.
Do not like the Cherokees, but my wife has and '11 Grand Cherokee... It's is very nice... You could pick up a '11 Model for around 25-30K I believe. Handles like a car... Believe it has the same suspension as a Mercedes. Wife had a 4-Runner prior to that. She loved it as well... Some might not care about newer tech or features but the Jeep had about as many as you can find now a days and was still was 5k or so cheaper than the Runner. She drives about 8-10 miles each way to work per day about 4 days per week. Maybe 1 day a weekend at avg 10-15 miles.. Gets about 2 weeks or so out of a tank which is about 22 gallons at full.
I would bet more women drive what you drive. I've seen a few women driving Wranglers but not like mine. Would have to be the worlds biggest dike.
I've never seen a heterosexual man drive the two door version of the jeep. the 4 door is still mostly women. there is zero chance more women drive my car. zero.
