Gotta be able to find a way to win when the wind is blowing in at 40 mph. Last night was won by the play that Panik made. Which was one of the best plays in October you'll ever see. By a rookie nonetheless. I also love Bruce Bochy. He's an old school guy that realizes he can screw more up than he can help as a manager.
As I said, Matheney would have ran out of pitchers by the 6th last night. Giving it to his ace and riding him would have never crossed his mind. Yeah, that play was pretty dang incredible.
As a Cubs fan, I believe it is against Illinois state law for me to say this, but some of my favorite teams were the mid 80's Cardinals with Vince Coleman and company. Someone explained they would get a walk, steal second sacrifice to 3rd and sac fly for a run. You would no hit them and they would beat you 9-2. But now back to our regularly scheduled programming: **** the Cardinals.
