I notice that we've added a large group of new users, of late. While I'm not sure as to the exact reason for the influx, from where they may have originated, or found us, we're happy to have them, and welcome their participation. You'll find this site to be truly member-centric, meaning, amongst other things: 1. First and foremost, we love Tennessee, dutifully support it (in word and deed) and will vigorously defend it. But that dedication also compels us to speak the truth about it, and everything in and around it, as best we can see, understand and know it. While some see (and often accuse) us as being "negative", we would collectively and strongly disagree, believing that to ignore, whitewash, downplay or deflect the truth of any reality, however painful and/or uncomfortable, is to only compound the problem, and make it so much worse. But, like anything, even that can go too far, despite the best of intentions, and where you feel that it has occurred - call someone on it, and challenge it. No harm, no foul. 2. We don't delineate between mods and members except in the rarest of cases, where we're left with little to no choice but to do so. Otherwise, mods are the same as anyone else, here, with myself being notably included. But that also works in the opposite direction, meaning, mods won't jump in and "save" someone here, unlike other places, especially from your own stupidity. 3. We encourage discussion and debate, both lively and even sometimes (quite) heated. 4. Post whatever you want, but own whatever you post. Expect to be challenged, and reciprocate the same to others, where you feel it may be necessary. The notable exceptions to this philosophy, and those things which we will not tolerate in any form: racism, sexism, bigotry, threats of any kind or any other hate-filled speech or posts. 5. Because we use Google Ads on this site, we must agree to abide by their Terms of Use, including the provision to prevent the posting of lewd, lascivious, pornographic or otherwise beyond what most reasonable person(s) would consider to be "family appropriate". You can say some curse words, like "shit" (see?), but others will be automatically filtered, so as to prevent their being posted. So, if you were to type "NYYVol is a ****-sucking piece of ****-sauce", an "*" would replace those prohibited words. Please don't circumvent these filters (ie by placing hyphens between each letter of a prohibited word, etc.) or post anything that you wouldn't want shown / spoken to a child. 6. Don't respond to any of NYYVol's PM's. Anything else, just ask, and again, welcome.
To all new members, welcome. And get out while you still can. Once NYY gets his KY-infused hands on you, you are done for.
Clitt Note version: Welcome, we love Tennessee without being blinded, Mods don't matter, have at it but don't be dumb, and finally NYY is my [itch bay], got it?
Holy cow, just like your avatar distilled 100 gallons of mash into 1 gallon of whiskey, you have distilled 1000 words down to 20.
Make sure everyone is aware of IP's Tuesday night online prayer group. Also, please note that there are no official 8th tailgate parties held at any Pilot truck stops, despite what you may hear.
Also, there's a Melungeon running around here somewhere. If sighted, try not to poke it with a stick.
Also don't forget the Kid Burton, Droski and hatvol symposium on "Decorum and Diplomacy on message boards".
