Saw somebody on Twitter say the Alexis Johnson accuser chose not to prosecute and jumped on the lawsuit bandwagon.
I would strongly caution that we not make the same mistake as Shaun King fooled many to believe about Peyton, just last week - don't accept one side of the story as being a fact. Or even a close representation of it.
If you've exhausted every effort, with the media, the legislature and the leadership at UTK to bring back the Lady Vols bullshit, you hope to attack and cause the leadership to be replaced with a more sympathetic group. I'm not saying what did or did not occur, or what blame Tennessee has, if any. But don't be fooled that this is motivated by anything other than "avenging" the Lady Vols stuff and a brazen grab for cold, hard cash. If UTK said the right number at 9am, this would go away by supper.
As a general rule, sure, caution is good. But Shaun King is a shit reporter and his sole source was the accuser. We pretty know Butch said it.
I love Tennessee, and hope that this isn't true, even if it entrenched both Cheek and Hart for the next 100 years, and meant that we lost Gruden to Alabama.
Well, it better be something because he apparently told the grand jury in the Johnson/Williams case something different than he's saying now.
Quite a long while, I imagine. UT is planning to fight - attack, even - this lawsuit, and will likely follow that course as long as a handful of influential others have the stomach to continue it.
