There's tons of things a brand new head coach should be doing when in a recruiting dead period. Nautical. Metric. Shit. Tons.
I sure as hell wouldn't burn bridges with coaches and families that I've built over a decade plus by leaving them hanging on a championship run. If this is the Liberty Bowl its done. He leaves Minka and other players hanging and it could have much more affect than this short term double duty.
How well he can motivate the current players is going to be a big deal. He needs a good season next year if he wants to recruit well. WV and UF loom large early. If he can somehow pull out a win in both of these, there will be some reason for hope. If they're 0 for anything important going into bammer, at least the buy out is reasonable in 3 years.
You'd get shit on. Edit: It would obviously depend on where, but if the schools were reversed, brown shower time.
I'm pissed he's staying at Tennessee's biggest rival to help them to greater success at the expense of Tennessee. When he becomes the head coach at UT, I will hope for his success. Right now, he's a bammer. There's no straddling that fence. In some ways, he's always going to be one. If you think that doesn't matter, I think you are naive.
Who asked you? You're like the gnat flying around a dog's pecker around here as far as I'm concerned.
He left for Ole Miss. Left his boys hanging in the 1st BCS National Championship Game with Randy Sanders having to call plays for the first time.
