Was 100% sure that Bama was going to murder us in Neyland. The best thing we did was beat a mediocre Florida team and still managed to look like garbage for most of the game.
Meh, Jennings caught that Hail Mary and I was happy. Head nearly hit the ceiling I jumped up so high.
I was dog cussing Butch to hell right before the Hail Mary. That season was fun for half the year, but we never really looked good in any win. There was always the sense that Butch couldn’t get it done. The offense was still coaching malpractice. We’d just randomly hit big plays with Dobbs, Malone, Kamara. Pure talent, no scheme whatsoever. People want to give coaching credit because the offense broke some records that year. Dobbs set records that season, not Butch or Debord. Just felt like ranting lol.
Don't disagree with any of that. We get to 6-0 with wins over UGA and UF I'm always gonna be happy. That's just me tho.
I was happy during individual moments. Almost always have that throughout any season. But overall I still understood we were posing as a top 10 team.
Saban would have had that squad running sprints for embarrassing him for a half against Florida and for barely beating Appy State and a .500 Georgia team with a first year head coach. Butch acting like we'd already won the Super Bowl for starting 5-0 is a huge part of why we never really became good.
Every position group looks pretty good to me. I wonder if Darrel Middleton will end up in this class. I’m pretty sure LeDarrius Cox will flip to Auburn. Going to be a lot of moving pieces, but I like where we are at every position.
