Agreed. Even if Bowden is better, I'm not sure we have enough talent and depth outside to win.

 

Don't remember the 4th foul call but the 5th on Grant was legit. Grant got in the path of the driving guard and tangled legs with him. Gotta call something otherwise you punish the guard. The 5th foul call on Azubuike was just as weak but just as necessary to call.

 

Looked to me like Grant actively attempted to avoid contact with the guard, and the guard’s feet made contact with him AFTER he tripped.

Azubuike was pushing off of people the entire night. They could have easily fouled him out earlier than they did.

You can say what you want about fouls, but the botched goal tend and missed travels were indefensible.

 

Doesn't matter if you actively avoid anything if you still make contact causing the guard to fall down

 

Yeah, those calls had to be made or you have to call a travel on the guy who got knocked to the floor. They called more than a few really bad calls that had a huge impact on the game. As many bad calls as they made there were just as many bad no-calls.

 

Two really bad goaltending calls against us. They hit a dagger of a 3 that got their guy in the zone late on an all-time bad moving screen. Refs made bad calls against them too. They just didn't have the same impact that it had against us.

 

The moving screen no call was huge. They had called that exact moving screen on Fulkerso. In the exact same spot earlier in the game.

 

Yeah, from there homie gets fire ass hot and is drilling shots from all over the floor. Whereas before he was a complete non-factor.

 

This is the truth, as unpopular as some may find it to be. As Un points out here, our Vols have a habit of choking in big games against quality teams.

This team is just as likely to be bounced in the Sweet 16 as it is to win it all.

Agree here, he has to play bigger than that. This is going to happen from time to time when playing really good teams though.

 

Tennessee’s going to have to be much better than “most teams” if all of these dreams of a championship - or even making a Final Four - are going to come to fruition.

Refs arent to blame when you have a lead and the ball late, but have to call ks for running starts if you are gonna call it on grant on a spin move when he put the ball on the floor

 

Fulkerson barely moved. Theirs was a moving, rolling pick with the guard changing direction behind it like using a bulldozer.

 

Every team. Thats why basketball is awesome. All it takes is a couple guys being on and a couple off.
