Wasn’t just the coaches with Pappoe - lots of analysts thought we were flipping him too. Makes me question what Auburn did at the last minute that convinced him to stick.
Seems like we actually will flip Pickens. Hopefully Fulmer can work some magic and get him eligible. He’d likely be our best player this class.
They’re a lot better at that part than most ppl. I think they even have Vito Spatafore hooking up the extended family with no shows on construction sites.
Ive mentioned prior snd believe Pruitts "honest" approach with some of our targets and parents doesnt make a good fit. He doesnt lie enough.
maybe. just an opinion. He coulda offered Russell early then pulled it I suppose. Kid got pissed being a backup plan imo. Pride is deadly
Literally everyone at AU thought he’d stick so long as the staff was retained. I guess maybe analysts gave Tennessee more of a shot when it seemed likely Gus was getting canned.
Tennessee must land a comparable share of high-level talent to compete for championships. Neither we nor anyone else will ever sign top-level talent by exclusively focusing on non-top level talent. If our pursuit of top-level talent causes some problems with less talented players that we need as backup plans, it’s still infiitely preferred to never trying at all. We have to fill needs, for sure, but I’d rather Pruitt err on the side of trying to land the best possible talent, first, even knowing that he may miss on many. Butch had 20 or so 3-4* project players very early, and never even tried to get the best players, and the result of that should be obvious to anyone who’s paying attention.
